I would like to create a stack that generates a file of data to be read at a later time from another application. I think I can use the "open" and "close" commands to get the data from my stack into a file, but I need to be able to set the TYPE and CREATOR to match that of the original application before it will "see" the new data files created by my stack. I manually changed the TYPE and CREATOR using DiskTop and the data files I created (actually used Word as a test) showed in the dialog box of my application program as expected and read in fine. Any ideas? Perhaps there is an XCMD or XFCN. Howard Kaplan
