A friend of mine is looking for an MDS (Micro Development System) which supports both the Intel 8086/80186 and TI TMS32010 families. The system should also have a screen-driven editor, cross assemblers, and a compiler for a high-level language such as Pascal, C, or PLM. In-circuit emulator capability and debuggers would also be of interest. He currently has an Intel MDS and has been looking at the Tektronix 8561 Software Development Unit (11/23 16-bit processor, 256Kb RAM, 13.6 Mb Hard disk storage, 2 user ports, 2 lineprinter ports, TNIX OS, Pascal and C support) and the 8540 Integration Unit. Has anyone used this system before? If so, what did you think of it? I'd like to hear about any MDS systems which you may have used. Please respond directly to me, and I can summarize replies for the bulletin board. Many thanks in advance, kathy
