-------- Recently, while reading the Washington Post, I came across an article that discussed new FCC charges on inter-state computer communications similar to FCC taxes on inter-state long-distance calls. The article said that the FCC has the authority to do such a thing and has been holding off so the network industry could grow unimpeded. Now that the industry has matured, the FCC wants to tax connect-time. Any knowledge about this out there? Is this a way countries (you could read the USSR here if you want, but don't have to) could limit free communication on a UUCP link? David Subar ARPA: subar@mitre.arpa
