  Sorry Bill, I got into my writing so much, I completely forgot to type in the
paragraph about the abuse of technology by war-monging goverments...
  Of course, just to be picky, I will point out that the weapons and other
technology used by goverments is STILL manufactured by  private corporations
and businesses...

  Ownership is linked to the problem, simply because of who owns the most
technology  and how it is used.
  I'd like to point out that while workers have always protested labor saving
devices, those same devices generally create new jobs, even while replacing old
ones. Robots may be used a great deal now, but they can hardly be left unat-
tended, and they need to be serviced as any other machine does.
