[comp.society.futures] Nanotechnology Forum - Where is it?

dmg%adea-att.arpa@BU-IT.BU.EDU (David Gagliano) (07/28/88)

For those of you who know what it is:

I have been unable to hook up with the nanotechnology forum; it
was being run by josh hall of rutgers (josh@klaatu.rutgers.edu), and it took
me forever to hunt down their Internet address, but now that I've got it all
together, the group seems to have vanished. Have they moved? Have they
all gone underground? Any clues? Anyone with any helpful information, pls. post
it my way.

For those of you who don't know what it is:

Nanotechnology is the term currently being used for devices/technology built
to atomic specifications. Other terms also used have been biochips (old), and
molecular electronic devices (newer).

If this is new information to you, I STRONGLY suggest picking up the book
"ENGINES OF CREATION: THE COMMING ERA OF NANOTECHNOLOGY" by K. Eric Drexler. (If you care I'll hunt down more obscure numbers). This book is about all of our futures; I respect the membership of this list, and look towards all of you as the visionaries

that will create tomorrow. If you haven't read it, do so. You will find yourself infected with new memes, such that you ask
yourself every day "What have I done today that will make this possible?" Not only that, but its a decent read.

Looking forward to a better tomorrow,

				David M. Gagliano
