[comp.society.futures] Your nasty note to info-futures

richman@UXE.CSO.UIUC.EDU (Mike Richman) (01/10/89)

}Now here's an excellent example of the sort of assholes I have
}to put up with...
}
}He sends an exasperated, frustrated message to the whole list on
}Sunday January 8th.
}
}HIS FIRST REQUEST TO BE REMOVED WAS FRIDAY JANUARY 6TH.
}
}Two days, and over a weekend and he's ready to bother everyone on the
}list!
}
}I rest my case, between this sort of thing and jeff daiell's
}illiterate, irrelevant (yes jeff, this is a technical list about
}computing) babbling it makes me consider throwing the whole damn towel
}in.
}
}It's not a mailing list system anymore, it's more like offensive
}subway train graffitti.
}

Barry,
Did you have a bad weekend? For the record, the request was the 3rd I
made to be removed from this list (1st in Nov, 2nd in Dec). Sorry you
took the tone of the brief message the wrong way. As to my mental state
when sending off this 3rd note, you really aren't in any position to
comment on that. In general, I have had no problems getting subscribed
and unsubscribed from BITNET lists. Maybe you ought to take a cue from
those? Well if you don't enjoy moderating the list (as stated) ....
Have a nice day (;-)

Barry,
You really must have had a bad weekend. Just for the record, a fellow
employee, Carl Londquist, is also on this list. He also asked to be
removed last year and, to date, still receives your mail. (But then
again, maybe all employees at U of I are liers?) As for your
irresponsible use of the English language over the network, all I can
say is that I feel sorry that you feel you must resort to this type of
personal attack, regardless of what form of mailing list ettiquette
you may feel I didn't adhere to. Usually, people like you eventually
get what is due them. I'll wait until you self-destruct (or maybe you
will become more civil and grow up). Till then....
