[comp.society.futures] One-handed Keyboard

Here in Israel, court stenographers use a 1-hand keyboard. It is NOT
a shorthand input device - they type straight hebrew (26 letters).
I believe the KB is based on a prototype developed at the IIT a few
years ago.

while we're at it, why not have a speech-recognition system that only
needs to recognize letters/digits ? we type char-by-char, so we could
SPEAK the chars. (I assume that recognizing a few words is easier/cheaper
than trying to recognize words.) As a compromise, common words can also
be recognized.
