[comp.society.futures] Electronic Banking & Newspapers!

air@jacobs.CS.ORST.EDU (Arthur Ernest Wright) (05/09/89)

I to have been using Quark Express, the electronic News service
available throug cable all over the US at least (But not advertised)
and hard to find. The service I think is free, The box and software
is what you pay for, I think Magraw hill is sending out the compiled data.
*Anyregistered* author can add to the News. There was rumored to
be software uploads aswell, I installed this system for a friend, and
found it interesting but not worth the price.

I use my banks online account info, to see what checks have cleared
up to yesterday, a whole lot better than waiting a month for your statement
or tyring to hassle it out of them on the phone.

I have few friends in Eugene, but I talk to my friends using IRC,
we conference in germany finland and the usa,
10 people confernceing in real time over the internet.
I play "hunt2" in the same conferencing type manner many players many
sites. and I must say 'Email has saved my life' or my friendships at
the very least. I am in touch and in tune with the digital pulsebeat of
my life.

I work live and play in the electronic world of phones, radio and computer co
comunications. (I boycot TV as it has proved generaly a bad plan).

TV has low data content and heavy subliminal impact, watching voluntarily
is like poping your brain out and saying "here play with this, I don't
use it"(:-).

PS: I also read books.
