Sure it does, in two senses.  (a) You can get thousands 
of dollars off on year-end closeouts.  (In fact, 
motorcycle dealers usually have "new" bikes that are 
SEVERAL model years old.)  (b) Never buy release N.0 of 
ANYTHING.  Always wait for release N.1.  In the case of 
cars, this usually means the second year a model has been
out; although even waiting until half-way into year one 
will usually gain you a few ECO's that have been folded 
into the production line.
