We have received to copys of a note from MANSER to PLANT that are apparently destined for BIOSBRED and C3076 both at UMRVMB (University of Missouri at Rolla). Nowhere in any of the to or from fields are these userids mentioned. The real trouble with these notes is that they crash the RSCS at UMSLVMA which is the BITNET node between here and Rolla. The From field in the mail header is 2 blanks and 78 hexadecimal zeros. Does anyone have any idea why a note from one place in the UK to another place in the UK is getting sent to places in Missouri?

Bruce, The message in question was a general meeting announcement that was posted in England and redistributed to other sites via the BIOSCI biological sciences bulletin board network. There are users in Missouri who participate in this network so they received the mailing. The anomolous header was due to a remailing of a message to the U.S. from a European site after a network problem at the U.S. site. It was a one time event and I apologize for any inconvenience that it caused you. Sincerely, Dave Kristofferson BIONET Resource Manager kristoff@net.bio.net or kristofferson@bionet-20.bio.net
