[comp.ai.neural-nets] Neuron Digest changes moderators and mailing lists

neuron-request%hplabs@HPLABS.HP.COM (Neuron-Request Moderator Peter Marvit) (08/02/88)

Greetings to Neuron-Digest subscribers. As you may remember, in a recent
Neuron-Digest, Mike Gately asked for volunteers to whom to pass the baton
of moderatorship. After a bit of hiatus, I'd like to introduce myself as
the one to follow Mike's very capable example.

My name is Peter Marvit and I work at Hewlett-Packard Labs and
(concurrently) have returned to school at the University of California at
Berkeley. My personal interests in the area of Neural Nets include
modeling of cognitive processes as well as physiological and anatomical
models of the nervous system and brain itself -- rather lofty goals,
admittedly.

After a few bumps in the transfer of this list, I hope to release a digest
about every other week, more if volume requires. Even if I get no
submissions, I'll fake a few, just to keep the juice flowing. The success
of this Digest, however, is in your hands. All submissions, whether
questions, answers, commentary, or just ruminating are welcome. A more
formal "statement of purpose" will be forthcoming.

This message also will serve to test the new mailing list. Many of the
addresses were changed to reflect HP's connectivity. If some of you notice
*long* delays from the mail date (today is 1 August) or your mail gets
mangled or your addresses are incorrect, please contact me. I'll send at
least one brief follow-up before resuming Digest mailing so that as many
fixes can be effected as possible.

Please note the new address for submissions, address problems, additions,
deletions, and any other administrivia:

	neuron-request@hplabs.hp.com
   or
	neuron@hplabs.hp.com

If all goes well, you will have received all the backlog and we should be
caught up and ready to go with a new volume number by 1 September.
