[net.micro] Naive questions about 8086 and 80286 processors

	What exactly are the implications of having 64K segments in
the 8086 and 80286 processors? For that matter, what exactly are these
segments and why are they used ?  How does their presence affect a
typical programmer, using a high-level language (c) under MS-DOS
or XENIX ?    How would their presence affect programs with large
data arrays (say 256K bytes), used for image processing ?
