[comp.ai.neural-nets] Query: ANN's in medical imaging?

I have been asked to investigate the possibility of using ANNs to
analyze and classify mamograms.  Can anyone refer me to projects
analyzing mamograms or related images?  Can anyone supply pointers
to relevant texts or articles on generic pattern recognition using
ANNs?  I am more interested in practical engineering applications
of ANNs than theory.
