[comp.ai.neural-nets] Implications of connectionist learning to Human learning

knareddy@umn-d-ub.D.UMN.EDU (krishna nareddy) (11/11/89)

Hi netters,

I am writing a term paper on the learning nature of connectionist networks.
This is for a graduate Psychology class "Human Learning". So I am trying to
talk about connectionist network learning in terms of behaviorist (Pavlovian
conditioning, Skinner's rules etc.) and cognitive (Hebb's rules etc.)
philosophies. The emphasis is on a balance between the Psychological
implications of connectionist learning as a model of human learning and the
AI implications as a general model for learning.

I am wondering if somebody could point out to literature ( I will be glad
to receive any on-line articles/papers you have ) related to this.

Does anybody know of any attempts to relate connectionism to Piaget's
schemas and learning by assimilation and accommodation?

If you have a paper/reference please indicate if you can mail it by
US mail (I'll cover the mailing costs).

Thank you,
