I am taking the Parallel Processing course here in U.C.Davis and my friend and I are working on a project for that course. Our project title is "Neural Net Simulators in a Loosely Coupled Distributed Environment". We want to investigate how to write a neural net simulator that runs on several machines (usual Unix machines) connected by a LAN. We know that a transputer based simulator has been written. But we could not find the code for that simulator. Is there anyone who knows of other similar simulators and / or can provide some pointers to the programs (source code)? Also, what kind of neural nets would be the easiest to implement? Our main theme is not the neural net itself but how to distribute the load (hence adjusting the boundaries of the partitions) among the nodes. Thanks in advance!
