From: S.Khebbal@uk.ac.ucl.cs Greetings, Glad to see other people working in the same area. I enclose a small collection of papers concerning Connectionist Knowledge Based Systems/ Knowledge representation in Neural Networks. As far as generation of explanations from neural networks are concerned, the most noted are Gallant and Saito but I would like to hear of any others looking into this topic. %A Li-Min Fu %T BUILDING EXPERT SYSTEMS ON NEURAL ARCHITECTURE %J First IEE International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks 1989 %P 221-225 %C The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA %D October 1989 %A Tariq Samad %T TOWARDS CONNECTIONIST RULE-BASED SYSTEMS %J Proceedings of Second IEEE International conf on Neural Networks, San Diego %V Volume 2 %P 525-532 %I IEEE %C Honeywell CSDD , Golden Valley, MN 55427 %D 1988 %A Kazumi Saito %A Ryohei Nakano %T MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC EXPERT SYSTEM BASED ON PDP MODEL %J Proceedings of Second IEEE International conf on Neural Networks, San Diego %I IEEE %V ONE %P 255-262 %C NTT Communications and Information Processing Laboratories, Japan %D 1988 %A Stephen I. Hopefully to incorporate as much as possible the functionality and issues found in conventional symbolic expert systems, using a incremental modular approach to network construction and to investigate the integration of conventional symbolic rules within the system shell to allow the use of well defined rule-based heuristics, as well as implicit heuristics from examples. I would be very interested hear from others interested in this area. ----- Sukhdev Khebbal =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= # MAIL ADDRESS : | EMAIL ADDRESS : # # Mr Sukhdev Khebbal, | # # Room 224, | skhebbal@uk.ac.ucl.cs # # Computer Science Department, |------------------------------------# # University College London, | TELEPHONE NUMBER : # # Gower Street, | # # London WC1E 6BT. | LONDON - 387 7050 Ext 3664 # =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
