I am (hopefully) about to begin a PhD in the area of Pattern Recognition using Neural Nets and I am looking for background and introductory material to study. I have read Richard Lippmann's paper and I am wanting to explore the various algorithms presented in it practically. I am looking for Neural Net simulation or implementation software, written preferably in C or Pascal, and well documented, to experiment with and explore the area of neural net algorithms. If anyone could give me such software, could they please mail me an let me know.
