[net.micro] Z80H availability?

jeff@abnji.UUCP (jeff) (07/08/85)

[jam yesterday and jam tomorrow but no jam today!]

Why don't I see the Z-80 H (8 MHz) in the back-of-Byte magazine companies
(Jameco, JDR, DoKay...) but only in a few products? Is it scarce?
Are there any peripherals for it?
I don't have the $$$$$$ to deal with distributors (unless I am mistaken
and they have prices comparable to Jameco, et. al.).

Can't comment on the Z80 availablity :-) but do know that most distributors
can be quite reasonable. The only snag is that there is a minimum order,
sometimes its $25 others it is $75, I got the "good" general instrument
speech synthesizer this way and was informed at the time that they were
$12.50 each. If I bought one I would still have to pay the $25 minimum but
2 were still only $25, so I got two and sold one to a friend. Your best
bet is to get together with some other people and buy a bunch so that
you easily make the minimum.
