I am presently working on a constraint satisfaction problem and I hope to use Hopfield net for this purpose. However I am having a slight problem with the mapping. The way my problem has been structured it is possible for more than one neuron to go on in a given row or column (unlike the TSP problem where only one neuron can go on in any given row or column). The total number of neurons that can go on in a given row or column is known. I am having some difficulty in formulating the energy function for the above. Has anybody else ever faced this problem and solved it. If so I would appre- ciate some help. Thank You.
