I am in desperate need of a file transfer protocol which will get a file from a PRO350 running P/OS to a PDP-11 running RSTS/E. Unfortunately, the floppy disk formats do not seem to be compatible. I may be incorrect about the floppys (I hope), but today I took one to the local business center off of the 11 and couldn't get their PRO to look at it. One acceptable answer would be kermit, but I do not have the tools I need to do the file transfer of kermit to the PRO. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Time is somewhat critical. If anyone out there has kermit for the PRO, please contact me, as I would be more than happy to pay for floppys/time/trouble if you could send a working disk with kermit - from there I can do the rest. Alternatively, if someone can suggest a way for me to move kermit to the PRO, I have got access to it on a local 11/750 (VMeSs). Haverford College has the full distribution, and they have been kind enough to let me copy it in as long as I do so in accordance with the terms of Columbia University. I took a disk off of the PDP-11 (floppy) and walked it down to the DEC business center. I had created a text file using create, and tried to get a directory of it on the PRO without success. If there is something obvious I am missing, that would solve the problem better than anything else. The file was in directory [0,0]. Tomorrow, I plan to try putting it in a "real" directory and seeing what happens. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
