Regarding fuzzy logic/neural network refs....there was the IIZUKA '90 conference (recently), I know that Nasa had a conference (about 1.5 years ago, in Texas, I believe), and you can always reference MY master's thesis "VLSI Implementation of a Fuzzy Cognitive System", from the University of Manitoba, 1990.
