[net.micro] PRINTER BUFFERS

Does anyone know how to add the 4K buffer to a star 10X printer,
Maybe its's as simple as plugging in some chips??

Your question was about adding a 4k printer buffer to a Star
Gemini 10x...

If you are adding the *first* 4k buffer, it comes on an expansion
card, is made/offered by Star, and should have installation instruc-
tions with it (it's actually easy to do).

If you are adding 4k to bring you up to a total of 8k, then all you
have to do is plug in the chip(s) to the existing buffer card. As far
as my memory (no pun intended) goes, you don't need to fiddle with
any DIP switches - but check me to be sure: I've had a weird day!

Hope this helps...

I believe it's a board that plugs into the main logic board of
the 10X.
You may want to re-consider getting a buffer. The printer only buffers
up to one line of print. If you do double density graphics, then this
could buy you something. But, if you are only doing ascii text, it
would be better to get some sort of external buffering device.
