[comp.ai.neural-nets] DEMO AVAILABLE

hess@adminsun.ee.Virginia.EDU (Paul Hess) (12/22/90)

Today I posted a copy of the AbTech Jet Engine Diagnostic Demonstration
on comp.binaries.ibm.pc.

JEDI is the initial prototype of a jet engine diagnostic system for the
Pratt & Whitney JT8D-7 gas turbine engine, commonly found on-board the
Boeing 737 and DC-9 aircraft. JEDI was developed under AbTech IR&D with
the NASA-Langley Research Center. JEDI results from a combined application
of the AIM (TM) machine learning tool and other abductive modeling
techniques employed by AbTech. It provides the baseline for the
development of an overall system diagnostic concept exhibiting the
following capabilities:

   - Fault Detection (*)
   - Fault Isolation
   - Degradation Estimation
   - Sensor Fault Detection (*)
   - Sensor Fault Isolation (*)
   - Dynamic Behavior Modeling
   - Diagnostic Conclusion Confidence Measures

The asterisk (*) indicates the capabilities which are included in this
demonstration.
