[comp.ai.neural-nets] Request for information on Sandia National Lab NN

shaun@gauss.isr.recruit.co.jp (Shaun Lawson) (02/05/91)

In the January 21 edition of Computerworld (pg. 17) there is mention
of a neural network target-recognition system developed by researchers
at the Sandia National Laboratories which runs at 2.5 billion connections per
second.

If this figure is for learning speed, then it may be faster than the
current world champion, the Hitachi neurocomputer recently announced
with a speed of 2,300MCUPS.

I would appreciate any information available on this. Please reply by
E-mail, and I will summarize the results, if any.
