During the past couple of days I have been attempting to implement the Adaptive Heuristic Critic (AHC) for a control problem (which is teaching a computer simulation of a man to walk - Any Comments/Advice?). Unfortunately the texts I am using supply only implementation details (i.e. How to do it) or give incomplete discussions on it. Could someone please send me some references on the AHC more to do with "Why it works". The texts that I am using are: Simpson, Patrick K., "Artificial Neural Systems", Pergamon Press, 1990. (Covers all major and most minor neural networks implementation-wise) Maren, Harston, & Pap, "Handbook of Neural Computing Applications", Academic Press, 1990. (Mainly Chapter 22 by Werbos) (Broad view of the applications of neural nets and how they are (and can) be applied) If anyone out there could help me I would be very grateful.
