[comp.ai.neural-nets] Monte Carlo usages in Training

I'm trying to find some information in regards to using a 
Monte Carlo simulation to determine error minimization in 
training NN's.

Is simulated annealing the only probabalistic technique?

Any info on papers or experts will be greatly appreciated.
