Greetings! I am wondering if someone reading this newsgroup who has read the paper "CMAC: An Associative Neural Network Alternative to Backpropagation" by W.T. Miller, F.H. Glanz and L.G. Kraft, that appeared in Proceedings IEEE, October 1990. OR "Real-Time Dynamic Control of an Industrial Manipulator Using a Neural-Network Based Learning Controller" by the same authors, that appeared in IEEE Trans. on Robotics and Automation, February 1990. could clarify the following problem for me: In Figure 2 (Figure 1 in the second reference), with C = 4 (and I could count 21 Input Sensors for each input in the figure, it is not mentioned in the paper though), how does one do with only 110 State Space Detectors? Or otherwise how does one get the `110' number? What is the relation between the value of C, Number of Input Sensors and --> Number of State Space Detectors? Please email what_you_think/believe/know_for_sure about the above problem to ggovind@uceng.uc.edu Thanks in advance. Girish Govind
