PURPOSE OF THE SYMPOSIUM: This Symposium is intended to attract individuals
who are actively engaged both in theoretical and practical aspects of
intelligent systems. The goal is to provide a platform for a useful exchange
between theoreticians and practitioners, and to foster the cross-fertilization
of ideas in the following areas: approximate reasoning, expert systems,
intelligent databases, knowledge representation, learning and adaptive
systems, logic for A.I., neural networks.

	3- The full-name of author (s) and institude and country where the research
	was conducted should be written on the title page with an abstract of no more
	than 300 words.
	4- Four copies of the papers should be sent to the chaiman of the organizing

Papers are solicited for a special issue of the Journal Analog Integrated
Circuits and Signal Processing (AICSP) covering the growing area of
artificial neural networks to be published in September 1992.
The special  issue will cover all aspects of analog VLSI neural networks.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

*Tradeoffs of analog/digital systems

	ANALYSIS AND MODELING OF NEURAL SYSTEMS 2

	This workshop/meeting will provide an update of the most
	recent developments in quantitative analysis and modeling
	of neural systems. Eighteen invited speakers will provide
	general reviews and summaries of their recent research.
	Aspects of neural function, ranging from the subcellular
	level to the systems level will be considered. Although
	oral presentations will be limited to the invited speakers
	original research contributions are solicited for poster
	sessions in the following areas: subcellular systems, cellular
	systems, multi-cellular systems, tools and techniques.
	No backprop please.

	Authors should submit a single page abstract and a 500 word
	summary clearly stating their results by April 5th 1991 to
	the Program Coordinator at the adress below.

	There will be no parallel sessions, and the workshop will be
	structured to stimulate and facilitate the active involvement
	of all attendees. With that goal in mind, we request that all
	registrants stay for the entire 3 day period.

              Neural Networks in Design and Manufacturing

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IJAMT)
is soliciting papers for a special issue on Neural Networks in Design and
Manufacturing.  Both theoretical and application-oriented papers are
being sought to address various issues regarding the use of neural networks
to deals with the following design and manufacturing problems:

    o  Design, planning, analysis and control of manufacturing processes,
       cells and systems
    o  Concurrent engineering
    o  Design for manufacturing
    o  Machine monitoring and fault diagnosis
