summer@trl.oz.au (Mark Summerfield) (06/19/91)
Hello all,
Sorry to ask such an inane question, but I have been delegated the task
of reporting to my supervisor on "the state of the art in neural networks".
I know nothing about neural nets (apparently nobody in our little group
does, but somebody had to get the task!). I don't need much -- just enough
to give a brief overview (talk for < 1 min). We are a VLSI design
group, so the information should be pertinent to current VLSI implementations,
I guess. I would like any information, or references to material in
the current literature which may be of use. Sorry I can't give more
details, but I really haven't a clue at this stage :-(
Please respond by e-mail as I only have a week, I don't normally read
this group, and I'm sure neural netters have no interest in such trivia.
Thanks in advance for *any* information at all.
Mark

Everything you know is wrong -- but some of it is a useful approximation!
