Reply-Path: In my department we have (approximately) 10 Microvaxes operating ULTRIX 1.2 (sigh!) Unfortunately the department bought HPLaserJetII s (another sigh!) as the printers. All we have is troff eqn and tbl driver for the laserJet and it is homegrown. MY QUESTIONS ARE: 1)Is there any software which convert Postscript files into a format which can be printable by LaserJetII. (in public domain or commercial) 2) Is there a software awailable which will make the (Otherwise clumsy) LaserJetII a post-script printer. (or am I talking in vain) A. They place ads in Unix Review, etc. the second is from Image Technology, called "xroff". i believe that their package can do the same thing, but don't quote me. note that a better solution is to convert the laserjet by adding a smart postscript card; heard that these are coming out but have not investigated. you might check with HP. advantage is that the postscript -> HPGL conversion is apparently very cpu-intensive and slows your output way below the actual maximum speed of the laserjet. -- Don Kossman, SEI Information Technology, Los Angeles usenet: {ccicpg!imt3b2 | peregrine!imt3b2 | sun!tsunama!tsunami}!seila!don
