[comp.unix.ultrix] New modem control on U2.0

I still haven't received my "capacity upgrade kit" that was absent
from V2.0 distribution but thought I'd at least start preparing for
  the ordeal.

I just read this in the Release Notes:

"1.12.7 Modem Control Conforms to RS-232-C Standard
Modem Control now conforms to the RS-232-C standard. This new
functionality makes more complete use of modem signals, as required by
multinational communications systems. Modems that do not conform to the
RS-232-C standard for modem control signals may cause unpredictable
    results. "

O.K., so they made one or more changes, too bad they didn't elaborate
and tell us exactly what the new conditions are for reliable use. I
could assume this involves Carrier Detect and maybe RTS and CTS but
  one could waste days guessing.

Anyone out there care to explain ? Thank you.
