Hi gang, Say, has anybody tried getting `uucpd' to work on ultrix? We have got version 1.2, and the uucpd source compiled fine with the 4.2-ish defaults, but alas, it appears to not work. Most of the other uucp over tcp/ip stuff worked fine (except for dialing the phone - can you believe it, it couldn't dial a darn hayes modem - yeesh), but the daemon does this... %/etc/uucpd uucpd: getpeername: Socket operation on non-socket The `getpeername' occurs right at the beginning of the program, and is done on socket 0, which, I presume, being standard input, confuses somebody. So, has anybody got any keen ideas? You may wonder why - well, we exchange news and mail with a close neighbor over a local network, and 1200 baud seems real dumb when we've got a network... I also had problems with `rrn', and really have NO desire to plunge into that one - has anybody got it working so they can read news maintained on another machine? Seems like a simple thing, but it don't work, either. It seems to start ok, then it just doesn't understand the `y' key - "do you want to read this article?", you say `y', and it ignores you. Nice. Anybody deal with this before. Help. Please. Reply to me, because news is, ahem, at least 1 machine away all the time. rob rds95@leah.albany.edu [ When replying, check that the reply is directed to Rob and not to me. -- Art Z. ]
