We have just upgraded our VAX8600 to Ultrix 2.2. We are very excited about the possibility of printing to a printer connected to a LAT, because we've been doing it with our VMS machines. So one of the first things I did after setting up the OS and the networking was to set up LAT ports. We are having no problem connecting to the VAX from the DECserver, so I'm confident that I did that set up correctly. I also followed the directions for setting up LAT printing carefully and believe that I did it correctly. I made the ttys file entries for the appropriate ttys off nomodem, and set up the printcap files as they should be. The problem seems to be that the transcript if command (actually called pscomm) tries to read from the printer. It can't do so (always gets an "unexpected EOF") It has worked when dircetly connected to a Sun, so I suspect that the LAT set up is causing a one way connection. Is that correct? If so, does any one have any fixes or work arounds? I appreciate any help I can get.
