Not net.children, net.kids !

P.S.: I'm not voting for or against it, just want the name changed...

rh@mit-eddie.UUCP (Randy Haskins) (07/16/83)

Okay, so we can talk about goats on this newslist.
What about sheep.

I second scott preece (uicsl!preece)'s suggestion for a newsgroup
to discuss children, parenting and the like.

I third Scott Preece's suggestion for net.kids (or net.children, we are not
talking about goats here!)

Yes to net.kids. It would be a good place to discuss education as
well.

Count this as another "yes".

Please have a look at net.women sometime. I think you'll see the
justification for net.kids.

 Surely it should be net.children?

Unless, of course, you all wish to discuss small goats??

...!vax135!ukc!dgd (I just happen to prefer that nomenclature! )

hobbit@sunybcs.UUCP (Thomas Pellitieri) (11/08/83)

I tend to agree: net.kids does imply young goats. However,
the name net.children implies (to me at least) human beings
under the age of nine. Also, the name is a bit long for my
taste. What about net.youth? That seems to apply a bit more
to the actual persons involved, and is less condescending than
things like net.brats 8-)

It could be net.children, but "kids" is easier to type,
and we'll all know what is meant. And if anyone wants to
post their comments on small goats, they'll be welcome to.
