Is anybody doing baud rate detection on a 785 (DHU11 boards)? It would really help things here if terminal users could press RETURN or some other character and have the system automatically determine the baud rate BEFORE sending out the login prompt. The normal UNIX method of sending out the login prompt and changing speed on BREAK, causes havoc with our PC's when there is a speed mismatch. Even if the garbage displayed on the screen does not cause the PC to lock up or behave strangely, it is very disconcerting for users accustomed to true baud rate detection. I'm also curious if other UNIX software/hardware combinations support this. Thanks in advance. --Michael Morse National Science Foundation Internet: mmorse@note.nsf.gov BITNET: mmorse@NSF Phone: (202) 357-7659
