For plotting I use an HP-75C unit with a HP-82913A monitor and a HP-7470A plotter attached by a HP-IL interface loop. My plotting programs are written in BASIC combined with the HP-GL graphics language. Plotting works fine but now I wish to use the plotter for digitizing. My HP-7470A Graphics Plotter Interfacing and Programming Manual states on page 11-6 that "At the time of this printing (May 1983), the I/O functions necessary to obtain data from the plotter are not available for the HP-75...". Does anyone out there know if digitization with the hp-75C and HP-7470A combination is possible or where I get information on this subject? I have read all my HP manuals and they are no help. The I/O Utilities package (P/N 00075 - 13013) or the I/O ROM (00075 - 15001) will allow you to input from your plotter. For more information I would suggest calling the HP Technical Calculator Support Group at (503) 757 - 2004. (I would have mailed, but didn't know how to get to an ARPA address) Harry Phinney hplabs!hp-pcd!hp

The HP-75 equivalent of the HP-85 Printer/Plotter ROM should now be available from the HP Users Library. This is in the form of a cassette tape which contains a rom image. The rom image is loaded into a Plug-in Module Simulator (HP 82713A -- I think the price is around $400). This unit is a ram based box that can hold 2 8K roms and looks like a plugin rom to the HP-75. The rom image for the plotter rom implements functions for plotting, moving, scaling, axis drawing, etc -- and digitizing. --- Raan Young (hp-pcd!raan) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hplabs ---->\ harpo ----> \ ----> >--!hp-pcd!raan microsoft ----> / textronix ---->/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
