[comp.unix.ultrix] WANTED: Info on ULTRIX soft for remote booting of client nodes

Here at the GSB, we have a DEC MicroVax II running ULTRIX V2.0.

We would like to upgrade this system to allow it to become a boot node for
both VAX Station 2000s and DEC Station 3100s which we are about to order.

Our understanding is that we need to get a special version of Ultrix to
allow for the remote booting of other nodes over Ethernet. We guess that
we will need two versions to boot both VAX CPUS and the DECs 3100 CPUS from
the same boot node. We emphasize that we want to boot the OS over ETHERNET,
not just serve software using NFS support.

We need information on exactly what software is required. In particular,
any part numbers or software descriptions would be very useful. Our DEC sales
man really doesn't seem to have a clue about how to do this.

Please respond via E-mail.
