I am attempting to interface a C64 Koala Pad to an S-100 device of my own design. The A-2-D subsystem consists of a NE558 (Quad 555 timer) and a software driver. This works exceptionaly well with 100K POTS (resolution of 0 to 2K), but not at all well with a Koala Pad. What does a Koala Pad put out? I wish to treat it like a POT. A look inside the Koala Pad yields a PC Board with 7 ICs on it. Does anyone know how it functions? I am aware of the recent Byte artical (that violates every S-100 spec there is!!! and is overly expensive) on this, it recommends some internal jumpers on the Apple Koala Pad. I do not want to go shooting in the dark and start mucking the guts. Any help will be appreciated. Thanx, Gern -------

You might want to check this out -- but before working too hard on kludging up an interface, you might want to check with Koala at 800/562-2327. I believe they are either about to ship (they have already announced) a version of the Koala Pad for the IBM PC and compatibles. Marketed along with their Executive Presentation Kit business graphics package as an input device. -- David
