[comp.unix.ultrix] Developing setld distribution kits

klr@hadron.UUCP (Kurt L. Reisler) (06/21/89)

Does anyone out there have experience in writing setld distribution kits
that they would like to share? I have read over the "Ultrix-32 Guide to
Preparing Software for Distribution on ULTRIX Systems", and found it to
be, well, lacking. The examples are incomplete or incorrect, or lacking
important items.

What I need the most direction in is the SPC module. I have managed to
get the master index, key files and input, output and data directory
structures in some working order, but the SPC modules are a bust.

Also, there is a bug in the "kits" shell when it goes to compress a
distribution kit. It is looking for the kit in the "data" or current
directory, while it has been created in the "output" directory. An easy
fix, but isn't this supposed to be the same code the engineers use?
