I have configured a Vax station 2000 as a client of a Vax750 server, running Ultrix 2.3. The vax station has a RD54 disk. The customized kernel includes the RD54 disk. Swapping is done on the clients Rd54 disk. (I have created the necessary special files for the clients swap device). The VS2000 client boots over the network from the customized kernel in the clients root area wonderfully well and is using its own disk as swap device. I can address the clients RD54 disk as a raw devive e.g. I can run newfs, fsck and chpt on it. But problems arise when I want to address the disk as a block device. If I try to mount a partition on the clients disk I keep getting the message: ufs_mount: /dev/rd0a on /mnt: operation not supported Suggestions that would solve my problem would be most welcome!
