Has anyone installed Ultrix 3.1 on a vaxstation II with a qdsg (color) server? I was wondering if the xcons problem had been fixed. (I'm getting kinda tired of doing a xrefresh with every console message. Thanks in advance. $%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$% Gary Faulkner Systems Programmer - Networking National Center for Supercomputing Applications University of Illinois BITNET: GRF@UIUCVMD Internet: garyf@mehlville.ncsa.uiuc.edu Disclaimer: If I've stated an opinion, consider it (C) 1989 by me. I'm running Ultrix 3.0/UWS 2.0 on a VAXstation 2000 and console messages go to my login window just like you'd expect. Just qdsg. The problem is that if you are running xcons, and a console
message comes in, for some reason it completely screws up your entire display
(to the point of being unusable). The temporary workaround is to NOT run
xcons, let the message come directly to the console, and then xrefresh to clean
up your display.

Both MIT and DEC have discontinued support of the xterm -L option. MIT now recommends the xdm session manager. DEC recommends dxsession, a more powerful session manager than xdm.
