Sorry about reposting this, but the machine I listed as an e-mail address last time went down for a bit more than a week, so I only ended up getting one response. We are interesting in purchasing an 8mm tape subsystem for either Decstation 3100's or Decsystem 5400's. Does anyone out there have experience with such systems. I would be inclined to think that having things sit on the 3100's would be cheaper since they already have SCSI interfaces built in, but heard rumors about the driver not quite working right. Several manufacturers have told me that they currently do NOT guarantee that their systems will work with the 3100's SCSI interface.
