I have a problem with getting transcript and troff (not ditroff) running on
a DEC station 3100. The troff I used was from dec and was not a supported
product, the transcript was from adobe. When I tried the ptroff command
which uses troff and the translation from C\A\T to postscript, I got the
following message:
Non-numeric character in font file /usr/local/lib/ps/troff.font/Times/ftR
(maybe non-ASCII font file)
Can someone who had the similar experience give me some hints of what's
going on here? I think these font tables like ftR were generated by the
compiling result and therefore were not ASCII file. BTW, I don't know
much about the internal structure of Troff and any help would be appreciated.
