I'm sorry if this is an old and tired subject: whether or not to use Yellow Pages. Soon I'll have the following on a private (quiet) enet circuit (all to run Ultrix): 1 DECstation 3100 server, 3 RZ55 disks 7 DECstation 2100 each w/RZ23 (100 Meg disks) Desired Setup: 2100's effectively or completely diskless. RZ23 (100 Meg) definitely to hold /tmp and swap. RZ23 could also hold local root filesys, any reason to do that? I've always avoided YP, BUT I've never so many stations, and never had a diskless environment before. Any advice either way gratefully accepted. Is there a better (non-YP) way for the 2100's to share /etc/passwd, group, and hosts ? Reply directly; if this is NOT a tired old subject, I'll summarize.
