I suspect that this question has been posed before. However I am relatively new to the net. For the past few years I have been searching for a way of producing journal quality manuscripts that contain a fair amount of mathematical notation. I started by using Wordstar with special patches to take advantage of the technical math font on my NEC Spinwriter. This was an ugly solution because it is definitely not what you see is what you get. I also tried Microsoft WORD, but again found it not to be satisfactory. What I am interested in finding is a package that will let me create documents with mathematical notation on my XT, uses an HP Laserjet or dot matrix as the print device, and permits me to preview on screen (with a Hercules board) the results in a what-you-see-is-what-you-get mode. I have recently discovered that Knuth's TeX is available for micros. Any comments on any packages, especially TeX, would be appreciated. I particularly would like to hear from people who are using a package that fits the bill, along with prices, sources, etc. Thanks in advance, Terry Harrison 310 Business Administration Building Penn State University University Park, PA 16802 (814) 863-3357 BITNET: hbx@psuvm UUCP: ....!psuvax1!psuvm.bitnet!hbx ARPA hbx%psuvm.bitnet@wscvm.arpa
