I am debugging an unsupported portion of the kernel and I am having trouble getting a core dump. The problem is that the machine hangs such that the only way that I can get it to respond is to push the reset button. At this point I hold down a key so that the machine exits from its self test before testing memory. Going to the doadump routine at this point does not produce a core dump. It would be very helpful to get a core dump from this hang. However, I suspect that it might be impossible. (I have been able to get core dumps from panics.) Any advice is appreciated.
