We have version 7.1 and 8.9 of university ingres and are looking for comments on both. We have heard that DEC will be supporting a version based on 7.1 and would like to know if this is just smoke or not. We are considering using this for a user directory (i.e. whois) on an Ultrix 3.2 (as yet unknown on which one, a 11/750 ,2100or 3100) and as a device to automate upkeeping of network listings and statistics. Any information on the versions or any knowledge about using ingres for these types of applications would be appreciated. Keith A.
