[comp.unix.ultrix] getty: /dev/ttyXX: Error 0

I have noticed postings about dhu/getty problems recently, but none
quite like this...

Situation: VAX 8200, upgraded recently from Ultrix 1.2 to 3.1.
Since the upgrade, the getty processes hanging on the dhu ports (/dev/ttyXX)
have problems. I'm seeing lots of lines in syslog of the form

	getty: /dev/ttyXX: Error 0

Substitute XX with 00 .. 31 (two dhu boards, 16 lines each). Most of
these lines are connected to a Sytek LocalNet box. (Four are connected
to modems, and on these there are no errors.) The error occurs at boot
time, when the gettys are initially fired up, and then periodically
thereafter at 15 minute intervals (no doubt an internal getty param).
I am not convinced this is a functional problem, though, because people
can log in and do work.

Should I be concerned? Is there a fix? The config file lines look like:

device	dhu0 at uba0 csr 0160440 flags 0 vector dhurint dhuxint
device	dhu1 at uba0 csr 0160460 flags 0 vector dhurint dhuxint
