[comp.unix.ultrix] ditroff on DECstation?

pete@northstar38.dartmouth.edu (Pete Schmitt) (03/14/90)

I believe this was asked before, but has anyone gotten ditroff to
work on the DECstation (3.1/2.2 Ultrix)? It compiles okay, but it
just doesn't do a thing.

I [think] I've just solved that problem this evening.

1) fdprintf and sprintf in n1.c should be changed so that it uses
varargs. otherwise, it pulls in function arguments from nowhere.

2) makedev.c may forget to fill in biggestfont when making DESC.out.
causes the "font X too big for position Y" problem all over again.
(Look at the 26th character in DESC.out.)

I don't know if these hints are bogus, or site dependent. Let me know.

Hope these help,
