[comp.unix.ultrix] sharing of /usr on 2100 server and client

jeanpaul@duteca (J.P.M. van der Jagt) (03/25/90)

Hello,

I have a few questions about a DEC-2100-station operating as a server for
DEC-2100-clients. The machines are running Ultrix-v3.1 with DEC-windows-v2.1.
A Micropolis SCSI-Winchester 1588-15 is attached to the server on which four
filesystems are created:

Filesystem Total kbytes kbytes %
node kbytes used free used Mounted on
/dev/rz0a 19375 8440 8998 48% /
/dev/rz0d 205775 172556 12642 93% /dlenv0
/dev/rz0e 156751 137652 3424 98% /dlclient0
/dev/rz0g 174327 149719 7176 95% /usr

Swap of the server is 64 Meg.

Is it possible and permitted to share (a part of) the /usr-space of the
server with the /dlenv0/root0.mips/usr-space of the clients in order to get
more free disk-space?

How can I get the name of a DECterm-window in the header of that window like
it used to work on a X11R3-xterm: echo -n "]0 (myownmachine)`dirs`

Are there extension-cables available for the keyboard and mouse of a
DEC-2100-station?

Please respond by E-mail. Thanks in advance.
